I was born in New York City and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I have been in the Chicago Public Schools system for practically all of my life. I attended Edison Park Elementary and then proceeded to graduate from Lane Technical College Preparatory High School. I have two younger brothers which is part of the reason I decided to become a teacher!
I decided to stay in Chicago and pursue a degree in Education at DePaul University. I majored in Early Childhood Education with an English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement, as well as a Bilingual (Polish) Endorsement! I absolutely loved my experience and I am so excited to have my own classroom! I hope to teach any grade from Pre-School to 2nd Grade as I love all of the younger kiddos I get to work with!
I am involved with DePaul's Golden Apple Cohort as well as the DePaul Polish Student Association (DPSA)! I was able to develop my teamwork and leadership skills as I served on DPSA's elective board for three years. After joining and participating in the organization for the duration of my first year at DePaul, I decided to run for the Event Coordinator position. Next, I took on the Social Media Chair position for the 2019-2020 school year! Finally, I stepped into the shoes of being Vice President of the student organization during my final year at DePaul. I believe this was a great way of bringing light and recognition to an important part of my life, which is my Polish culture.
I hope this gives you a bit of a glimpse as to who I am as a person, not just a teacher in a classroom!!
